The year 2025 presents both challenges and unprecedented opportunities within the spirits industry, offering a remarkable diversity of experiences to explore. We remain optimistic about the future, despite current uncertainties.
Both of us have had the privilege of embarking on several enriching journeys, including our regular participation in drinks competition judging events. Arthur explored distilleries in Slovakia, while Toby visited Africa and the Amalfi Coast. Additionally, we are grateful for the fascinating stories and reports contributed by our esteemed friends and collaborators from around the world. The Council of Whiskey Masters exams were particularly impressive, standing out as a truly serious and industry-leading event that showcased unparalleled knowledge and talent. It is heart warming to see this event become an annual fixture in our calendars, and to witness the continued growth and strength of the Council of Whiskey Masters amidst the various turbulences and politics affecting our beloved industry – read more about it in our cover story.
There is also have some cocktail related content and a little supplement with many lovely ideas and plenty of other thrilling drinks related content that we found important, entertaining or just fun during late summer for you.
